Skin Care Tips & Advice
MY DOG CHEWED A BIG HOT SPOT TO THE SKIN.
I just heard an omega 3 fatty acid, cir cumin……both for itch or infected ears and for inflammation anywhere, green tea, liquorish root from the supplement store (acts like a steroid shot). Stops symptoms significantly in a day? * just passing on from a vet* several principles are similar here
IF they have itching from a yeast infection, DO NOT use ANY oatmeal of any sort. It promotes the growth of yeast. And any grains in dog food, potatoes, corn , sugars in them too. Sugar loves yeast and promotes it further.
what can i do with my dog's hot spot? thanks in advance.
My dog has dry itchy skin and is losing hair from it I took her to the vet to see she's had mange she has no major but I don't know what to do
Coconut oil works best for my dog .I sometime add a. Bit of organic neem oil to the coconut. Please be careful as some dogs find neem irritating especially if you mix too much in with the coconut oil.Only a small amount is needed.Oregano oil again organic I have also used again this should be used sparingly and always mixed with another oil ie organic coconut, olive oil ,hemp oil My dog skin is very sensitive.I have to be care ful with what I use around the house .I use all natural cleaning products, washing liquids.etc I find coconut oil best for my dog.it’s also a natural anti- microbial .both neem and oregano are anti septic anti bacterial.and fleas don’t like either especially neem.Warning neem doesn’t smell nice but it soothes itching and heals the skin .only a little is needed .You can add it to a natural dog shampoos too.
My dog had also this problem but after using Planet Ayurveda HAPPY FUR COMBO Pack his itching stopped and his fur and skin become even more smoother.
My puppy had skin problem or allergy I visit the vet many times they give him med but nothing works for him I don't know what to do to his skin any more any recomendation pls

This is older, but I’ll weigh in……cut the wheat. Allergy to wheat increases over the years. Cutting the biscuits with wheat (most do) worked wonders with my dogs.Lots of premium dry dog foods are wheat free
I have a 9 year old Shar Pei who is driving me crazy with his scratching, licking and shaking of his head. The last time he was this bad I took him to the vet who diagnosed him with yeast and ear infections. He was treated with antibiotics and prednisone. He finally cleared up but now its back. Nothing I have tried ( has helped but I don't want to put him back on antibiotics and prednisone unless its a last resort. I'm going to try some of your remedies but do you have any advice on treating his yeasty ears?
Hi,can crossbreeding make healthier dogs?
You and your wife are the new dog whisperers. I tell everyone about you .GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.

Hihi, my dog is having rashes and pimples that he can’t stop licking and scratching. I am thinking of using the camomile tea spray solution. Can I check do I have to mix both camomile tea and herbal tea together? Or I can just use either one? Do you have a step by step guideline?
Example: do I just use one teabag, add water and chill in the fridge?
Awaiting for your replyThank you very much!
Where are all the links you said you were going to put on the bottom? The video ended and that was it.
Why haven't you suggested using Dawn soap? Dawn keeps fleas away and the scent also keeps flies away too.
My two dogs have never had fleas or and skin disease but then my Mom past away so I had to adopt her itching dog. Now my dogs are crazy scratching..can't sleep hardly and I'm pissed off. Is it that contagious?
Have you tried using pure witch hazel instead in the one remedy that uses rubbing alcohol? My mom used to use it on us kids as her "go to" astringent and I've used it on my dog in lieu of isopropyl since it doesn't sting. He knows the difference in the two by smell and will even refuse witch hazel with 10% isopropyl (which is what you most often find in the drug store).
My dog has horrible red with pus around the teeth. I'm disabled and can't afford to take him for treatment. He is about 12 and about6 lbs . He is a chihuahua. Please help, tell me what I can do. He is in a lot of pain, I have tried several home remedies to try to help but no good so far. I make less than 800 a month and time I pay bills I'm broke. His gums and teeth are past saving but need to get rid of lus and swollen gums. [email protected] please help me help my dog.
My Boston terrier / pitbull mix Has the worst skin! Feel so bad for dat booga, he get cut easy and like he has real dry itchy skin
I have a maltese poodle….3 years old.She was fine when she was a young puppyRecently…..her skin was so bad below her chest and arm pits behind her two front paws.I did EVENING PRIMROSE OIL RUBBED INTI HER SKINDID TAT TWICE A DAY.But still not worked .She kept scratched herself….again.Now…..she eats coconut oil…..bathe her and final rinse with apple cider vinegar diluted with equal parts of water.Still itchy…..HELP !!!!!!!!!
My landlady's dachshund has severe dry dandruff and distinct smell. She said she had visited 3 vets and nothing worked. Do you know what to do abt this? Is it about the diet (the dog is fed rice and veggies mixture) or about the climate (we live in a tropical country in South East Asia)? Or is it a typical problem of the breed? The dog is 9 years old and lives a lonely life. I really want to help him 🙁
Cindy S….THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR LOVING TIPS !!!!! I had never given rawhide to my dog…she eats fruits as treats. In fact….her food atr all home cooed meals specially prepared for her. NEVER ON KIBBLE or any dog processed food one get from Pet stores.I had prepared salmon, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, carrots, duck, pork …all healthy ingredients .Except beef. Tat worked out well for her.But she still itch under armpits….I think I will wash her with warmth towel every night before she wear her PJ.Yes….my dog loves to wear her PJ…!!!! Haha….Her fur is brush everyday but this time…i will get essential oil when brushing her fur everynight.I think….coconut oil might help too. Taken orally.About BENARDYL….I cannot get it in SINGAPORE. Unless prescribed by vets. I had no intention to visit vet because she always prescribed medication either too strong or some with side effects.I prefer natural remedies….BECOS IT WORKS !!!!!I had changed her bath routine to every 2 days ….instead of every 5 days for a bath.I dont want to bath her everyday becos her coat might lose her luster….Anyway…giving her warmth towel everynite as a RUB OVER IS PRACTICAL . And putting some safe essential oil on the brush will do the trick.THANK YOU CINDY S FOR ALL YOUR KIND TIPS !!!!!GOD BLESS !!!!!!
Love these tips 🤗 thanks a lot 👍👍🐕
Thank you so much
hi sir.. how many times in a day should we apply 50% water and 50%baking soda on puppy's itchy armpit- small wounds building up already due to continuos rubbing…
Every time you like a dog gets food every time you dislike a dog dies😭😭😭
Thank you so much for this video.I subscribed
THANK YOU ROCKY! I've been at my wit's end, my poor old Bandit has struggled with severe itching most of his 12 years. Vets diagnosed it as a yeast infection, and for a few months, we had it cleared up; but when itching returned, the same stuff did no good. Being genuinely poor, I can't go to them all the time so they can say "well let's try this, let's try that" at my expense. I'll definitely give some of these natural remedies a try!
The only thing working on my sheltie is natural vegetable glycerin,, I add several drops to his shampoo afterward 2 tablespoons of glycerin to a tub full of rinse water. I also mix 2 cups of distilled water (to prevent spoilage) a teaspoon of glycerin to a spray bottle using ONLY a VERY small amount on his coat once a week while brushing. He has a beautiful smooth coat to boot! Try this before the vet visit if it works for your fur baby great but not all skin issues are a topical issue so judge wisely.
Unlike humans; often our furbabies allergies appear as skin irritations, infections and hot spots. Determining with your vet whether it's environmental or food and then finding the appropriate treatment can make their lives much happier ! 🥰😺
Thanks so much for taking up your time to make this really informative video. Your dedication to helping others, such as me, is so very much appreciated. I feel guilty when Honey (my 8 year old pit bull) is sick and I cannot afford to take her to a vet. Fortunately, with people such as yourself, spending your time informing people like me of a few vet alternatives, I feel better in helping Honey when she needs my help. You are a benefit to all pet owners and I wish you much success in your life. God bless you!
Apple cider vinager does wonders for my pugs skin. She has a lot of skin issues the vet and I dont know why but acv helps stop the itch.
Before this she would chew the areas till she was bleeding 😣

Thank You for sharing all these tips. I've got a very itchy "Miniature Apricot Poodle. I can't wait to try some of these tricks.
Hello I just bought a four month old English bulldog and I found a few pimples on her back in her rear end and she’s also kind of Itchy she kind of smells do you have anything to help with that?
Very helpful. I wash my two dogs feet after a walk, specially this time of year; people want weedfree grass. I don't want them to come in with burning feet and then licking the chemicals off. Thank you for the suggestions. I especially liked the info on eucalyptus….looking for help with avoiding fleas and ticks and don't want to make them sick with some of these poisons on market.
Does it have to be the pill form of vitamin E or can it be the bottle? Is there a big difference between the 2? I know in certain things there are a few differences, just want to check if this is one of them.
And also, what soap is best to wash the dog with, in my case a chihuahua, before trying the coconut oil?
Animax is magic so long with any topical don't let them lick it. walk them after application, lamp shade, or anything to keep them busy. Also they usually love coconut oil. Mix with food… my dog actually ate his dry food with it! One last tip GRAIN FREE. not sure why but all these breeds are having issues with the dog food… talk with your VET!
Have to be careful with oatmeal because many dogs can be yeasty and oatmeal will make it worse. If they smell like Doritos or have a funky smell then that could be yeast – providone iodine (Betadine) mixed with purified water (I believe purified water if there could be an infection…regular water should be okay if not). Mixed until it is an iced tea colour. You can dab with a gauze pad, use as a foot soak or keep in a spray bottle like I go and spritz. (I sometimes spray on the gauze pad.)
Add Olive oil to their food every day. If they won't eat that get some down their throats starting with 1 tsp. depending on size up to 1tlb.
As a vet student I say double check your dog's basic medicals are up to date:This means dewormers, heartworm, vaccines, flea and tick medication. Why? All of these things prevent most common causes of itches, especially deworming. Also before bringing your dog to the vet, take note of where your dog is itching, what it looks like, how often they itch and what they do when they itch. Are they rubbing on the carpet, are they scratching with their foot, are they licking, are they biting. These can all help us because sometimes discoloration of fur is caused by the itching and sometimes it's caused by the licking and saliva. When I talk about how often, sometimes dogs or cats can have allergic dermatitis and it can be linked to the season. My friend has a pittie who sheds almost all her hair during shedding season and she itches like mad, but as soon as the phase is over, she's all good. Also note that if the wound is hot to the touch, smells funny, or the skin has thickened, the wound has opened or there is a ring formation or anything odd that doesn't look like a normal itch, please please take your dog to the vet. This is so important to do at this point because that means that natural treatments may not help your dog and that it could be the sign of a serious infection that could be highly contagious and/or a life threatening illness that could be handled if managed early.
I’m at my wits end, I have a little shot I Maltese, she’s 14 now and she’s always had a greasy hair problem but I’ve always managed it with oatmeal shampoos, brushing and such but the last summer gone it got so bad she was was scratching biting and licking so bad she was just tearing skin off causing these red scabby areas. She couldn’t sleep, she couldn’t lay down, she would scream in pain. I took her to my vet and they prescribed antibiotics, an allergy medication and Maloseb shampoo which calmed everything down but did nothing for her bad smell or greasy hair. Then a month ago it came back with avengence and started all over again. I took her back to the vet and they prescribed priednisone and it was the worst rubbish I ever used! She was shaking a puking and sounding raspy! I had to ate her down off it but it worse the week of life! It did nothing! She stunk worse still had the greasy hair and still couldn’t sleep. So I dove straight into all of your remedies. I did all of them. Everything you mentioned. Nothing! It’s still greasy! She’s still in pain and I feel so defeated! We did

Found your video will try some of your tips. My dog has itching skin problems the vet now change her diet to a veggie diet, she still itching.
I am seeing this 7-13-19, I am thrilled to have found this video! I much prefer natural remedies over pharmaceuticals. Have tried apple cider vinegar and water just yesterday, seems to help with the licking of the paws, which I am pretty sure is a yeast infection.
My dog constantly licking and biting right where her tail starts. Not sure what it could be or what would help relieve it. Any suggestions
Same with my cat. I know most problems start in the gut. She is always miserable.
Omegas process out of food. Pipingrock.com $4.95 for 120 Alaskan salmon oil w/omegas 3 5 6 7 9. I capsule a day on paw or food. Then every other day.
Re chewing paws… Really take a close look at where they are chewing. Was fearing a fungus infection when our Gordon Setter started random chewing of front paws… it turned out to be tiny pieces of mud balling between the toes, because of the muddy spring, despite feet getting hosed off before coming into the house. Big relief that it wasn't a skin disorder.
Hi my dog itches her ear all the time and it’s turning kind of rough and black . What home remedies could be good for it ? Thank you and I hope I get a feedback from you soon
My red heeler just gets right in the tub … Lol
How about putting a few drops of essential oils (like eucalyptus) into a hypoallergenic shampoo?
Rocky you are the best dog dad there is!!!

Safe for puppies itch?
Do you have a website where you can post your information on itchy skin so we can cut, paste and save??? Cannot cut and paste from description below video! 🙁
I know it will work but will it work wonders?
My 13 year old yellow lab. Has been itchy most of her life, but case solved finally. A lot of what Rocky says here helped her: brushing daily, adding fish oil to diet helped tremendously. I hadn’t added vit E, started doing that. Great tips, thanks for this.

You talk so much sir
I try 4 of these works well, Thsnks
Soak oats in hot water and take the water mix it with fresh Aloe Vera pulp and use it on your pets, cats or dogs. It works perfectly , I used all type of allergy medicines and even Cortisone but this soothes the irritated dry skin better and with no side effects. Good luck
